Now let's develop projects

Totnes on the Move is a community-led project; funded by Department for Transport, sparked by Devon County Council and managed by a group of community volunteers, the TotM Community Board.

Does that sound incredibly dull?  It’s not!

What it means is that the town of Totnes could be a “People First” town, safer for residents and visitors – pedestrians and cyclists – and less polluted.  We will also have achieved a new and collaborative way of working with our county council and we’d be happy to share our experience with other communities ready to take a hard look at transportation. If we want to reduce the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050, the transportation sector will have to decarbonise by more than 50%. Each community has a responsibility to do its bit, and that means us!

We welcome participation from local residents.  The Community Board usually meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm at the Transition Town Totnes office on Fore Street.
